The word manipulate has two basic meanings: 1) to control, or take advantage of something or someone. Usually in an unfair way. 2) to control something with one’s hands.

She tried to manipulate her teacher to get a better grade.

He learned how to manipulate the Internet, so he could gather important information for his research paper.

2) Examples

Keyboards are designed for easy manipulation.

People usually can learn how to manipulate the remote control for a quadcopter in a few easy lessons.
