Language Levels

A1 Beginner
At the completion of the Beginner Level, students are able to talk about most everyday activities in the present, express basic desires, and do simple errands. They are able to read basic sentences relevant to their everyday lives.


A2 Elementary
When students finish the Elementary Level, they are able to talk about everyday activities in the present, past, and future. They are able to read short narratives, directions, and labels, and write simple paragraphs.


B1 Low-Intermediate
Students at the completion of the Low-Intermediate level are able to read short, authentic blogs and simple news stories, identify main ideas and supporting details, and write a three-paragraph academic essay.


B2 High-Intermediate
Students at the completion of the High-Intermediate level are able to read short articles, identify implied main ideas and details, and write a five-paragraph simple research essay. In addition, they are able to summarize main ideas and write a response.


C1 Advanced
Students at the completion of the Advanced Level are able to read research articles, synthesis different author’s ideas, and write a five-paragraph argumentative essay with correct citations.


C2 Proficient
Students at the completion of the Proficient Level are able to research topics in their field of study and write academic essays effectively to persuade others.
